rev 2 isn't nearly as good
I used to use the FXWTC with great satisfaction on my house inlet. It had good filter life, tasted great, and restricted flow to an acceptable degree. Now, I can only find the revision 2 of this product. Rather than a solid core, this replacement is a roll of filter material, and while it causes less pressure drop, the taste is inferior, having much residual chlorine. (I'm on city water.) It also lasts a much shorter time, after which the taste becomes "muddy".

used to be good
I used this filter for years with very good results
but now it has been down graded less good sediment performance
GE should change the rev. number so customers realise it is not the same product
