Pump broke after only 2 years + hard to find compatible soap
I think the summary basically says it all. The latter issue was frustrating because we tried the recommended soap (cascade) and it still left residue. Eventually, we found Method tabs, which worked great until the unit stopped draining.

Dishwasher pretty in apperance but not good cleaning
CONS: Purchased this to eliminate hand washing dishes in the sink. However you still have to pre wash the dishes getting everything off before you load the washer. So it doesn't eliminate washing dishes in the sink, Also, cannot use anything but one type of dish washing detergent. This is a disadvantage because it doesn't get dishes clean. The tablets make rust appear in the water dropplets after a wash on the inside of the door. So stuck using one product to get dishes clean.
PROS: The control panel is hidden at the top of the washer which eliminates my childrens little hands from pushing buttons which is great. Also the collapsable features of the wrack on the bottom are great. Allows for bigger dishes to go on the bottom wrack. Good price overall for the money.

Expected more
This GDWT160RSS replaced another GE dishwasher that was over 25 years old and rather noisy, but otherwise worked OK.
The GDWT160RSS was easy to install, looks great and is quiet in operation. But, the cleaning performance is no better than the machine it replaced. If anything, we have noticed a slight degradation in cleaning performance.
Approximately 3 weeks after installation and just before Christmas, the GDWT160RSS failed to drain water. The drain airgap checked out OK, but grey water remained in the bottom of the dishwasher despite several attempts to re-run the wash cycle. Placed a service call to GE but had to wait till new year for a call out (was without dishwasher during the holiday period). The day before the service call we re-tried the dishwasher and it drained correctly. Ran another couple of cycles, all OK ? so cancelled the service call.
