Love the ease of doing laundry
I bought my GE washer about a month ago, and I love it! With my old washer I used to do 8 loads of laundry and with this machine I only do 4 loads. The drum inside is pretty big for a top loading machine. It is also pretty quite, at first I thought it wasn't working properly. I can do laundry at night, and don't bother anyone with the noise. Even in the spin cycle it doesn't do any noise. I used to do 2 loads of jeans and now I only do 1, and it washes them with ease. That's how big it is inside. I can save on energy cost and water. The salesperson asked me how much laundry I do in a day. When he heard that we are a family of 5 and the quantity of loads I do, he recommended this machine. He told me that with this machine I can do my laundry in the shortest amount of time and loads. He was right! Glad I took his advice.

Good basic machine
Needed a new machine pronto and wanted basic and traditional. This is a decent washer, but there is not a delicates option. I do miss that,.as I loved that feature on my previous machine to care for my more expensive casual and dress items. So far, this machine seems pretty hard on clothing, but does a fine job on linens, towels, etc. I will buy a "delicates mesh bag" and hope that will solve the problem. Had I had time to do further research/shopping, I would have paid more for the delicate feature. If this is not a concern for you, this machine is bargain priced, especially if you can hit a sale. I love the stainless steel deep tub. I hear that the traditional machines will not be available for long.

Great washer BUT read instructions if not familiar
Started washing like normal as I have done for many years..of course I didn't read the manual! Thought it wasn't working correctly when it agitated because it seemed so quiet and slow. After reading the manual AND going online to GEAppliance.com I found a video explaining the tub and how it works..THANKS GE!! I feel comfortable knowing that it is in deed working correctly and that it is suppose to be quiet. After 3 loads and doing my homework I am the proud owner of this washer!

Will take this over High Efficiency any day!
Sent back the identical HE machine when it wouldn't fill up enough to do my King sized bedding and you couldn't change the water levels or settings without it dumping out.
This one has few drawbacks keeping it from being the perfect machine for me. No Delicate or Hand Washable settings. The hot water is hot (which is not always the case in the washers nowadays), but it's a lot slower than the HE and my prior washer, for filling and pressure. It also doesn't spin out as well as the HE, which I'm not so sure is was good thing. (Had a lot more lint in the dryer with the HE, so that was a worrisome thing.) Also they've almost all went to a detached fin style agitator. So far my hoodie string got caught in the HE and my bra strap loop in this one. They need to go back to attached fins, for our clothes sake! This would be a perfect machine if they'd just fix these issues. Again I'll take it over anything out there right now and it's my fourth washer in my lifetime. Just hope it stays working, but I did buy the extended warranty, so for five years I'm covered. Averages out with sale price for me w/ tax and warranty $9.10 a month for 5 years. So cheaper than the laundrymat, I have well water!

fairly basic model with great features
just got my new washer & am very impressed so far. huge drum, can fit lots of clothes in it, agitator/fabric softener cup is not in the way of loading machine. (my other washer, I had to fit clothes in it due to large fabric softener cup & agitator sticking up too far) very quiet, spins clothes very good. I didn't want a ton of choices/selections when washing clothes & this model fits me perfectly. water level, water temp, using fabric softener? and 3 cycles, whites, perm press & colors. period. LOVE that!! I didn't want 100 different levels, choices, etc... to pick from just to wash my stuff. more things to go wrong is how I look at that :)

Simple knob controls , what I wanted
Washes great, clothes came out clean. I did not need all the fancy, more mode selections than you could possible use model. Trust it will last a very long time as I am semi-retired and do not need any repair bills.

Just what I needed
The capacity is huge, cleans the clothes, not too many knobs, and it was a great shopping experience.
