This Frig is a POJ
I have owned this frig for a little over 4 years. It was a warranty replacement for the first GE Frig I bought. Thank god I purchased an extended warranty plan. This is the biggest POJ I have ever owned. The ice maker works fine but the water line freezes up.

water dispenser freezes
I've had to empty the freezer and thaw the door 3 times in 3 weeks. The water dispenser tubing runs too close/not well enough insulated on the inside of the freezer door.
I've read a lot of similar posts on many forums going back 5-6 years. How could a company design the water dispenser (that passes through the freezer) and forget to make sure the freezer won't freeze it?
I have the freezer set to 5 which is the middle and the default as the fridge was delivered.

We're very pleased with this refrigerator
This is our first new refrigerator. We inherited our previous one from the people whose home we bought. It has terrific space, is easy to use and looks great. We're looking forward to many years of service.

BUILDER INSTALLED PRODUCT
I HAVE HAD THREE SERVICE CALLS ON THIS UNIT. THE MOTHER BOARD OF BOTH THE FRIDGE AND FREEZER UNIT ARE SEEMINGLY OF VERY POOR QUALITY. I HAVE THEM BOTH SET JUST ABOUT AT THE HIGHEST SETTING AND EVERYTIME I OPEN THE FRIDGE DOOR FOR MORE THAT A SPLIT SECOND THE TEMPERATURE JUMPS UP TO 50 DEGREES INSTANTLY. I HAD A SIDE BY SIDE BACK IN THE SEVENTIES, I DID NOT LIKE THEM THEN AND I LIKE THIS ONE NOT AT ALL. WAITING FOR AN APPROPRIATE TIME TO ELAPSE BEFORE I GET RID OF IT.

Does not perform
Rust around filter, continually freezes refrigerator contents even when put on warmer setting. Makes noises and seems to run 90% of the time.
Thought it was a reasonable value, but with all the problems, would not recommend it to anyone. I now see it has been discontinued.

It sucks
the fridge defrost is on what seems like a continous defrost . The freezer department defrost and leaves a icey mess all over the frozen packages and the ice in bend is constantly frozen and defrosted leaving it in one frozen mass. Do not buy this fridge if you dont need a constant headache. Had to call out the service dept for them to tell me that its just the way the fridge works. You can smell your food in fridge from outside of fridge during defrost . A very large headache is all this fridge is..... Do not buy.
