Great middle of the road product
This is a great middle of the road GE Profile refrigerator. When my wife and I were looking it fit well into our budget. We looked at it as an investment and hope it will last at least 10 years. So far we have had to replace the heater core to keep the water line from freezing but that is it, knock on wood.

Water Hose freezes, Freezer breaks down
Purchased this Fridge a year or two ago. Warranty is expired now, but the freezer no longer works. I usually expect to use a fridge for longer that this.
Also, periodically have problems with the water nozzle freezing over, so that I can't get water.
Annoying, and I have to pay for repairs myself.

I have owned this refrigerator for over five years and have never had a problem. Only maintenance has been changing the water filter about once a year. I like side-by-side configuration. Shelves are easy to adjust. Overall this was an excellent buy.

I got hosed on lousy warranty
Water line freezes up, can't dispense water anymore...GE says they won't cover it after one year...poorly engineered!

Very Good Fridge for the price.
I have owned this unit since Aug 2010. Fortunately I have had no problems so far. The water dispenses just fine. The ice maker will clump up the cubes sometimes, but clearing them away solves any problems. I like the adjustable shelves. This fridge works great for me.

Operates Fine & Nice Appearance
This frig along with all my GE appliances came with my new condo. And i've never had any of the issues that the previous customers had. The water dispensor works wonderful, the the freezer is nice. The Frig side is nice and i love the fact that I can change the placement of the trays on the door & the shelves.
I have been satisfied with all the other GE appliances in my house.
I would recommend this frig to another customer. I guess if you feel or are worried about issues then it may be smart to purchase an extended warranty but that is your personal choice as a consumer

Our water dispenser in the door stopped working shortly after the 1-year warranty. Had to pay for a service call and for a heater to be installed on the door so that it wouldn't freeze the line. That worked for awhile but it's now frozen again. Had to have another service call and was just told that if the heater install doesn't work that the entire freezer door must be replaced and it's very expensive to replace the door. Both repair guys acted like they'd seen this issue before. Unacceptable. Hoping GE will pay for a new door. The plastic brace that holds up the ice maker also broke so we're now without an ice maker also. This refrigerator seems very poorly made. I expected better.

The seals on the doors are not good
Sometimes unless you make a real point to shut the doors and check them they will not be closed properly and this will lead to frost forming on the unit, especially the freezer and then the ice cube maker freezes up and will not produce ice cubes.
