Good Product needs minor change
I know this model is no longer manufactured, but as a fomer employee I thought you should know this information.
The product looks and performs it's task well, but there are some design flaws. I have a GE Profile Slide in glass top stove.
The right front burner sits directly under the microwaves control panel and even with the vent on high or boost, steam from a boiling pot of water gets behind the control panel which, I think, makes the plastic buttons become brittle and break. There are just two adults in the house and we have had to have the control panel changed twice.
The other problem is the tabs that hold the top panel, that opens and closes when the vent is in use are also plastic. You have to remove this panel to change the charcoal filter, and when you replace the screws you can
crack the tabs. I have had to replace this piece three times, once because the GE Tech himself cracked the screw tabs. There should be a small piece of metal (Ilum.) to slide over and under the tab with a hole in it to accept the screws. Thankyou
