Buy something else!VERY disappointed in this product! Water dispenser stopped working. Icemaker is VERY inconvenient! Frost in the freezer all the time. Noisy compressor motor. Looks nice, but that is it.

So disappointeI purchased this 6 years ago and I am really disappointed. The gasket around the doors are constantly getting mildew. The SS on the door is so hard to keep clean. I use SS cleaner and the fingerprints on it will not come off.

Mixed ThoughtsThis fridge has a lot of storage which is great. I love having the water dispenser on the door, with the ice maker in the freezer. The armoire style doors work well for the fridge, but the freezer is lacking in over all space, partially due to how much space the ice maker takes up.
While I love the features, my story is about the reliability. After about two years, the freezer fan began making significant noise, which got to the point of aggravation being in the same room. I knew it might be the freezer fan hitting something, so I opened up the fan hood to check. This requires taking the front doors off the freezer, and pulling out both trays, only to confirm the fan was not touching anything.
Cut to a month later when the fridge stopped cooling. I see others have had this issue. Turns out to be a fairly common problem of the evaporator motor not working (the noisy fan in the freezer). After contacting GE, they would be able to send someone out in 2-3 days to assess, but in the meantime, I have no fridge (freezer is working fine though). I sourced the evaporator motor at a nearby parts store for 55 dollars and installed it myself in about 2.5 hours. It was a bit tricky having to remove the back panel and re-attach, but manageable if you like to tinker.
I had talked with a fridge repair company who said they could do the work, but it was 'intense labor'. Suffice to say, if this helps anyone with the same issue, this is why I write this.
I initially thought I was going to be buying a whole new Fridge after just a few years. I have very mixed thoughts on this fridge. It is beautiful and has all the features I want, but if reliability isn't good, I am concerned that $2000 will be out the window. I would be hesitant to buy another GE Fridge given my experience, thought I am happy with most of their other products.

Disappointed and frustrated by this productDesign is poor. ??Temperature is inconsistent and vegetables often freeze. ??Freezer space is cramped and poorly designed. ??I had way more room (in both refrigerator and freezer) in my old refrigerator without the bells and whistles. ??I am so incredibly disappointed and am writing this as I am trying to mop up my floor from the freezer which is not working properly. ??I am not surprised this model is no longer being manufactured. ????

This Fridge Has done almost everything we wantedI'm confused by other reviews referring to an ice dispenser.
One of the feature we like is that it just dispenses cold filtered water, no ice.
Thus, the full door is used for food storage as there is no bulky ice dispenser taking up space. The two freezer doors are great for easy access.
The only design issue is the ice maker in the bottom drawer. It makes a few too many ice cubes that then fall into the bottom of the freezer when the drawer is opened. Not a big deal as the lower area is still frozen so I just clean out the cubes once a month.
