Experiencing trouble with this unit
Have had this unit installed only 1 month and already the front left unit will not heat. Awaiting a certified repairman to repair unit. Jury is still out on my satisfaction with this unit.

Most Beautiful Looking!
You spend hours on hours of your weekends or days, combing through appliance stores, hardware stores, etc, looking for the best cooktop, only to find they really don't keep what you have or need. Trust me, this looks beautiful, and I sure couldn't find it in a store. I replaced a 30" downdraft with this 30" downdraft and couldn't be more pleased with the appearance, plus the many years to come cooking! Don't waste any more time, buy GE for fit, function, quality, and appearance.

I love the look and the features
I recently updated my kitchen and needed to replace the cooktop. After researching my options for a downdraft model, I chose this GE model based on features and reviews by other customers. Although I haven't had much opportuny to use the cooktop, I am happy with the performance and ease of cleaning.

A unique product among downdraft cooktops
There are very few electric downdraft cooktops that are affordable and this is one of them. The product performs great but requires extra care to insure its surface is kept clean and does not get damaged by pots & pans or other utensils that might fall on it.

The great Quality and look when clean as you go.
The Excellent quality and value when you don't want to compromise. This is my 3rd cooktop for three defferent houses. I feel very much flexability in cooking of all kind of cooking. The fan is so powerful which does not leave any steam at any time. The best of it's easy to clean and keep clean. I keep my trust in GE appliances and recomend my friend very much.

Functionally Excellent
When I designed my kitchen 20 years ago I included a downdraft cooktop in the island. When I needed a replacement recently there were few choices for a downdraft. Although I only installed this cooktop about a month ago, it really is superior in function and looks beautiful in my butcher block countertop. It does take extra effort to keep the glass looking nice and the control knobs are in a bad place to keep clean as well. You need to take them all off to clean around them to really keep the top looking clean. I would opt for the knobs on the side where they are less likely to get messy. The 3-speed downdraft fan works great although it was somewhat difficult to match up to the previous venting under the cabinet. I think this product is a little pricey but again, I had only 2-3 options for an electric downdraft. Overall, I am happy with it and hope it will last as long as the previous one.

Too hard to clean!
We had this new cooktop installed last week. It's a beautiful cooktop with good features, but after we read the cleaning instructions we're hesitant to use it. To keep its sheen requires a LOT of work. If we understand correctly, after each use we let it cool down, then spread a few drops of the ceramic cleaner (requirng some hard rubbing). and wipe clean. We had a ceramic cooktop in another home that required a damp sponge cleaning to make it look like new. We are very disappointed in your product.

Excellent performance over the years for a hungry family!
We have had this cooktop for almost 8 years and we could not be more pleased with it. I use it heavily as a full-time mom and wife, who is chief cook for 3 growing boys and a hubby who loves to eat at home. The downdraft exhaust is powerful and easily pulls steam and cooking odors out of the house. The cooktop heats very quickly and I really like the dual 6"/9" burner, which is perfect for heating my large cast iron skillet. The glass has held up well over the years and still looks great. The design can't be beat either as it looks sharp in our countertop. This cooktop was worth every penny and I fully expect to get many more years of use out of it.
