Expensive Repairs, cheaper to replace.
I purchased this washer 6 years ago, it worked fine until year 5. It would leave bad orders, would not always drain, spin cycles would last 30 minutes after it registered one minute left. Had it serviced today and the estimate was $700. In my opinion IT IS TOTALED, DONE! Would not recommend nor would I purchase another one.

Sturdy, dependable, long lasting with moderate usage.
A good machine that has served my household of four adults for over six years. Frame may rust from detergent spills if not cleaned. Vibration is evident if not level. Cycles flawlessly.

Would not recommend
I also bought this washer in about 2007 and have hated it since. I have had repair people in many times and it still gets off balance all the time. I've tried small loads, medium loads and large loads and nothing works. I've tried varying what I put in to try to balance a load and it doesn't work well. I can never wash towels alone and get them to spin the water out. I always have to add clothing to make it spin out enough water so that it is not dripping wet. It also smells bad. I wish GE would let me trade this in for a top loader. At leasat I could wash in a reasonable amount of time and not have to rinse and spin several times to try to get the water out.

Hate it!
I purchased this washer in 2007 and have hated it ever since. It always seems to be off balance. Whether the load is to small or to big. I have also had problems with it leaking. The door always needs to be propped open or it stinks.....
