Dont waste your money We moved into our house 6 years ago and bought all new appliances. We went with this washer thinking front load is good and bigger able to get more done in less time. Well, 2 years ago it stopped spinning at the end of the cycle. We've been able to "trick" it at the end of each cycle to spin to get by. Now, it washes and then when I go to trick it, it does NOTHING! I looked at the front to get information and it's dated 3/07 so just 1 month over 6 years old! Really frustrating, don't waste your money! April 21, 2013
Not had any problems I've had this washer/dryer for 7 years and have done multiple blankets and rugs and bed spreads. I've had no problem at all. I even have 3 cats and you know the cat hair problem that is. I love it. March 26, 2013
Great washer I've used this washer for 3 years now and have never had a problem. I love the features! December 8, 2012
does not hold up for the price only 6 years old and i get no power, when i called support they said "thats really wierd". goin back to the old style washers without complex circuit boards. September 18, 2012
Less than 5 years old and it won't spin Very disappointing. Appliances should go a minimum of 10 years without needing repairs. For a 2-person household this washer should last a lifetime, but after less than 5 years we need to call repairs to find out why it doesn't spin. I am trying to take the front panel off to see if something is stuck or the belt has slipped, but it is impossible to find out how to remove the front panel from what GE has published. Not Recommended - Never Again! When this machine works it is great. Unfortunately this isn't always the case with this poorly designed machine. There is no drain screen/filter that can be accessed without disassembling the machine. It WILL plug up and fail to spin and drain unless you follow this simple procedure. You will know it's time when it doesn't drain or spin and makes a horrible noise. Remove the two screws from the bottom of the front bottom panel. Remove the bottom front panel. Now stand on your head while you prepare your onslaught of curse words. Remove the spring hose clamps from the pump boot. (start cursing now). Plug your nose and remove the pump boot. Have a bucket ready in case you need to vomit. You will need a bucket for the water too. Clean out the boot. Throw away the spring hose clamps and buy some regular stainless steel hose clamps. (Or buy a special tool that will allow you to put the original clamps back on without going insane. The clamps are much cheaper). Now put it all back together. Get ready to do it all over again a a few months. (Hence getting rid of those horrible spring clamps). Now get ready for this. In about 4 or 5 years if you haven't already kicked this thing go the curb by then. You will need to replace the drum bellows (front rubber gasket that gets moldy). It will fail and dump a massive amount of water all over your floor. This rubber part will cost you between $120 and $240 depending on where you get it. Labor will consist of you taking the whole machine apart and replacing this or paying a repair person. I wonder how much this would cost to pay a repair person? Bottom line: This is the absolute worst appliance that I have ever owned. I have purchased a ton of GE appliances and normally had pretty good luck. Unfortunately, I can only say that I promise not to make this mistake again. Farewell GE. February 4, 2012
Do not buy this model Although this is a heavy-duty machine and works runs well, we have had to clean out the pump filter twice in less than a year. Easy right? WRONG!!! This model does not have easy access to the pump filter. You literally have to take the machine apart to get to it. Not from the back, but from the front. First time we had to call out a repair person. He told us not to bother washing half of our items in the washer because it would become clogged. What items did he not recommend? Sweatshirts. Because they may have "lint", sweatpants, blankets, thin or large, bath mats, towels. etc, etc. I asked what would he recommend to be safe articles to wash in this model, he said "clean underwear". Nice to know after I just spent money on this new set. :( November 8, 2011
