Ratings and Q&A

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Weak heater I bought this unit and a H09 unit back in June 2017. Outside of an initial clunk when starting, the cooling side worked pretty well but now that winter has hit I'm finding that these units take a very long time to heat a room up. The H12 has a lot of trouble getting my living room, 14'x30', up to 70 degrees. Granted I'm in a Chicago highrise and it does get cold here. It also sounds like a tractor starting up if it's been off for a day in the cold weather. It does get quiet after 5 - 10 seconds. I also wish the vents had more adjustability for getting air off to the side. I had a remote thermostat installed with this which has worked out well. The GE repairman told me my old unit was beyond help and recommended these. He also installed them. He did a nice job too. I have no gripe against him.
