Ratings and Q&A

FQSVF is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Same issue as others with supposed defective filte Using FQSLF filters for one year with no problems. Purchased 2 sets of replacement filters online in September 2014. Shortly after install, the unit started making loud noise, extreme vibration and reduce water flow. Removed filters and installed my second set. This set started same problem almost immediately. Now I just purchased a third set before I began a web search for problems. I have nearly $150 out of pocket with no solution. With the high cost of these filters, this is just not acceptable. With so many people having this same problem, GE needs to address whether these filters are defective and fix it, or determine exactly what the problem is. I will not recommend product until there is a solution.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Manufacturing Defect There is a manufacturing defect in these cartridges. When you look straight down on the top of the filter, there are two protruding tabs on the inside of the filter. These tabs are there to open a valve on the base station. When comparing the new ones to the old ones I noticed that the tabs are 90?? rotated, with the frame of reference being the screw threads on the outside of the cartridge. These rotated tabs no longer line up with the valve on the base, such that the valve does not open and the water will not flow. I have been using this product for over 5 years. The lot code appears to be 3289 1106

Rated 1 out of 5 by from GE-FQSVF filter I read the questions on this filter and see that a number of people had the same problem I am experiencing today. I have installed the new filters and I am not gettting any water. I re-installed the old ones and they work fine. I don't think it's a problem with air in the line. Initially there was a lot of vibrating noise and a trickle of water. Then, it stopped altogether. It seems to me that there's a manufacturing problem with these filters at this time.
