Great product We always purchase GE products. They are dependable and we know we can rely on GE. June 2, 2013
Simple Installation Brand new to the house as far as a water heater goes it has a nice look as time goes by more comments will follow. April 7, 2013
Basic No Frills Workhorse I went looking for the cheapest water heater I could find that had low operating cost as well. My area does not provide gas so I needed electric. I found a great value in the GE 50 gallon model I purchased. I carried it home in my convertible back seat and installed it myself with simple tools. It took no time at all to set up and within an hour I took a wonderful hot bath. the unit regulates temperature and has no external controls. It optimizes the water temperature and reheat rate for maximum cost savings. I feel very satisfied with this solid little workhorse and would highly recommend getting it. PS I looked at solar and instant heat units but the payback on those takes YEARS. This unit has very low life cycle cost and I like it very well. April 4, 2013
great price Decided to go with this cheaper model as more expensive ones with lower ratings. No problems with install after speaking with helpful associate and buying Sharkbite and Pex. Hot water within half an hour. No leaks. March 2, 2013
Rusted out in 3 yrs Bought this heater at Home Depot. Purchased and installed on 1/25/09... Today is 2/24/13 and the heater has rusted out and I now have rust in my water. After draining and flushing it several times, it has not cleared up. Poor quality. I don't generally purchase GE products. Any future purchases will depend on how GE handles my situation with this heater based on the email I sent them about the problem. February 24, 2013
Good solid value After 17 years my old water heater finally gave up the ghost and after doing a great deal of research I settled on this GE model and so far it has been an excellent choice. Installation was easy and straightforward and initial heating was impressively fast. The water heater is very well insulated and the cabinet stays very cool to the touch. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and would recommend this model to anyone in the market for a new electric water heater. August 21, 2012
