    Great Value Washer

This is our first front loader. I researched the purchase extensively before I bought it and I am glad I purchased it. The washer is quiet, efficient, and seems well constructed. The value is exceptional. I looked at many washers that were nearly twice the price. I specifically gave preference to an American made product. This washer was much less than the imports and as good, or better. The high speed spin can be a little noisy and shaky, but you can select a lower speed. The advantage to the high speed is that clothes come out nearly dry. This saves lots of energy and expense when it comes to drying them. I have had 2 previous GE washers that we sold with previous houses. They have been absolutely reliable, which is why I stuck with GE. You will not regret buying this washer.

Performance declined in first year of operation

Product worked very well for approx 9 months. Noted after 9 months spin cycle ran slower and clothes were not as dry.

After 18 months, problems with electrical system. Repairs estimated to cost $480 (new circuit board needed). Upon removal of the product, delivery personnel indicated "black dust" on the floor sign of bearings wearing out.

In my opinion, GE = poor quality1

    Doesn't last.

Worked great for the first 6 to 9 months. Now it stops on the rinse cycle. Clothes are sopping wet after the wash. After 2 service calls from GE, we are out 300 dollars and the washer still doesn't work. Shopping for a new washer now.

I have owned this washer for 4 years and it is full of mold on the front seal. It smells horrible inside and all my clothes smell like mold after I wash them. It is absolutely the worst purchase I have ever made. I emailed GE about it. Hopefully they respond to me.

  5. 5 out of 5 stars.

    Gets the job done!

It's nice to have the product at home at my convenience. Isn't of going to the laundry mat.
