Rated 1 out of 5 by from I had no other choice For our home remodel, I purchased this microwave. It last 17 months. I had to go buy a new one today. Because of the type of other appliances I have, and the cabinet that was made just for this one, I had to buy the exact same model. I had no other choice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointing I bought this model to replace my GE JEM31BF undercabinet microwave oven that no longer heated. This is the only model of the same power that could be mounted the same way under the cabinet. So basically I had to buy this model to replace my old one. So here are the disappointing differences: 1. Screw holes were not in the same place for mounting 2. Size is a bit taller so that items I stored on the counter under the old microwave will no longer clear the new microwave 3. Even though the new microwave is supposedly larger (ie., by cubic feet), it has a smaller turntable and less clearance from the back to the front such that I can no longer use my splatter cover - it is now too large for the new microwave 4. The controls on the older microwave were easier to see due to lighter background on the numbers/lettering. With the new one I have to shine a light on the controls to see what I am programming. 5. Quality is not as good in the assembly -- there are uneven gaps in the way the wall fit inside the microwave 6. The controls are harder to activate. Sometimes I cannot get a connection when I press the numbers/functions pads. And they are flimsy compared to the old controls - They are easily dented when pressing on them. 7. Although I have only used the microwave for a day, it appears that at least one of the best features of the old one has disappeared. This is to select "reheat" and let the microwave figure it out. Now you have to push "reheat" and select a code for the type of dish you are warming up - the few selections to pick from are not very useful to me. 8. This is an expensive microwave oven for what it does. One can get much more powerful and higher quality for half the price - however if you want it to mount to your cabinet with just 4 screws this is all that is out there. A better option for me next time is to make a bracket under the cabinet to hold a microwave oven.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor performance and expensive as well! I'm so sorry I bought it! I ordered it over the phone since I loved my old one. Doesn't always rotate properly. Noisy! Everything sizzles even at lower temperature levels and has to be covered! A real pain! Much bigger than my old one! Makes noise when going! They only had black and you can barely see what the buttons say. I thought it was the same number as my old one but was I wrong!! Just awful! I paid too much as well! My biggest mistake of the year! I hate it!!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good model, but not as nice as my earlier one We chose this model b/c the dimensions are similar to my old model, fitting our space; it is a little longer, but not too deep, but I still like my old one better. This is labout the 4th or 5th generation of our old GE model, but the old one had nicer features. It had a full length glass tray in the bottom, making it easy to clean. It included a removable shelf that I could put in when needed. It did not have a turntable, but I had a wind-up turntable that I put in when needed. This new one has a turntable that I can turn off; it can be removed for cleaning, but you are not supposed to operate the microwave without it in, acc. to the manual, which I had to download online (no longer included in the box). The old one was solid (this one is kind of tinny, makes more noise when you close it) and had a door handle (which I prefer) instead of the push button to open. The buttons are a bit hard to push and I can’t see them at night unless I turn the kitchen light on. The three things I like better about the new one are that it is a bit quieter, it has 800 watts vs. 600, and it has an Express Cook that lets you push one button to get anywhere from 1 to 6 minutes automatically on high. I am keeping the old glass tray - I may be able to place it over the turntable when it is turned off, in order to place 2 items side by side. It would be nice if the turntable was "sunk in" so that it was flush (level) with the bottom of the oven (as in some over-the-range models). That way one could put 2 items side by side when the turntable was turned off. The over-the-range models are all too long for my space (around 29 inches vs. 24). All in all, I think I am happier with this model (for my space) than any other models available now. It is a bit pricey compared to other models, so I hope it will function for a long time (I had my previous GE for 30 years!).
