Ratings and Q&A

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Solid washer Decent enough washer. Gasket tore about 3 yrs in. Replaced for about 1/2 cost. Still have it 8 yrs later. No issues with reported balancing issues.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good washer-however... I bought this as a customer return that was serviced. Despite its reversing spins to untangle clothes, it still has a problem with "out of balances". Also, sometimes after the final spin, clothes are still wringing wet. This is solved by an extra spin, but I shouldn't have to do this. Otherwise, it has been dependable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A true inbalanced piece of useless. I bought this set a few years ago and have had nothing but problems. the drum bangs evertime you wash anything other than shirts. water leaks from the front door seal, the drum always smells bad and it sometimes stops during mid cycle. I will never buy a GE appliance again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from MOLD I thought to give this machine two stars because it has run for 5.5 years. However, the mold has been such a serious issue and its very loud and unbalanced. Im writing this review so others know we have had mold throughout this machine (door, dispenser,  trap, etc.). Ive used bleach, tide cleaner, mold removers and vinegar for years. This problem never went away!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Problematic Like one other reviewer, we have had a number of problems with this washer & the thin gasket. Had to replace a number of times within the first few years, and finally got one that was thicker that did the job for much longer than the other three. We have had this unit 5 1/2 years, and the bearings have gone out, so we are replacing. It washes clothes all right, but does get unbalanced fairly frequently. The nice thing with this model is that it is self-adjusting, so sometimes you might have to run another spin cycle, but it does try to correct it on its own first. Overall, would have purchased another washer. Looking at top loaders again because, although there are a number of benefits with front loaders, they wear out too quickly for the amount of money paid. The tech I just had here said 5 1/2 years is about normal because of the wear & tear simply from gravity. All that is holding the basket is one shaft and 2 bearings. Once the bearings are gone, which they wear out in about 5 1/2 years because of the weight of the basket with clothes, the washer is pretty much shot - you can buy a new one for about the price to fix it!
