    Broke after only 3 years

We loved this washer until it broke after only 3 years of use. It started smoking and a piece of rubber tore off the gasket, and somehow the stainless steel drum became warped. The repairman didn't know how it happened, but I've since read other reports of the exact same breakdown in other Adoras. The repair is now going to cost far more than a new washing machine. I will never buy another GE again. Even a low quality washing machine should last longer than three years! We are so disappointed, and we're now buying a Maytag.

Broke after 5 1/2 years - more expensive to repair than to replace!

Used by my husband and myself only - no kids. Broke after 5 1/2 years of standard use. Cost to repair is over $2000!!!! Cheaper to buy a new washing machine as advised by the service technician.

Door mechanism locks and can't be opened to add items to wash cycle. Standard length of wash cycle is one hour and 20 minutes - that seems excessive, especially when results are mediocre at best.

Supposed to save water, but haven't paid much attention to this feature. Clothes sometimes have to be washed a second time.

    Would not recommend this product!

Breaks down every year or so

We are getting our third control board replacement for this washer. It is obviously a poor design.

Trap is also hidden behind a panel with three difficult screw removals. Poor Design.

many repairs, too expensive to repair at 6 years

We have had this washer repaired at least 5 times in the past 4 years. Now it will cost $ 500 which is what we paid for this 6 years ago. We can purchase a new one instead. The last repair less than a year ago was over $ 300 and the repairman noted we have had every part replaced that can be replaced.

    Doesn't work as expected

We bought the Washer in 2006. It worked great for the first year. After that we have had many issues. Currently it does not spin or drain. the counter is inaccurate. Says 1 minute left, 20 minutes later its finally done. It's such a "pretty" washer to work so terribly. I wish I would have done more research before we purchased this product.
