Range & Wall Oven - Automatic Meat Thermometer / Probe

The automatic meat thermometer (probe) provides very accurate cooking results by measuring the internal temperature of the food rather than the temperature of the air within the oven cavity.

Tips and Information About Using the Probe

  • The probe can be used with or without preheating the oven.
  • Use an oven mitt and caution when connecting the probe to the probe outlet in a preheated oven because the oven walls and probe outlet are hot. See the Owner's Manual for specific probe usage instructions.
  • Make sure the probe is fully seated when it is plugged into the probe outlet.
  • When first inserted into the food, the probe may say "Lo." This is because the probe will not register a temperature below a certain level.
  • Accessing and using the probe feature will vary depending upon the oven controls on the model you own. Please refer to the Owner's Manual for instructions.
  • During the cook cycle on many models, you can toggle between the probe temperature (internal temperature of the food) and the oven set temperature by pressing Bake (oven temperature) or Probe (food temperature). You can also press Clock to view the clock.
  • When the probe temperature is reached, the oven will shut down. On some models the display will show zeroes while on other models the display will go back to the main oven control screen once the probe temperature is reached.
