Removal of Caked Soap in Dishwasher Detergent Cup

To remove any caked-on detergent, carefully pry it out with a blunt object, like a wooden spoon.

To ensure that the detergent is dissolved properly during the wash cycles the water must be at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

Other suggestions include:

  • Powdered detergent should be fresh, not old and lumpy.
  • Pour detergent into soap cup just prior to starting the dishwasher.
  • Be sure that there is sufficient hot water in the dishwasher.
  • Switch to a liquid or detergent pod.
