GE Appliance - Rating Plate Location on Older Cooking Products
The rating plate contains important information such as the model and serial number, power ratings and manufacturing location for an appliance. The location of the rating plate varies depending on the product. The rating plate location for various styles of older cooking products is listed below.
To find the rating plate on older Hi-Lo Free-Standing Double Oven Ranges (referred to as Americana ranges):

1980 and later: Open the lower oven door and check on the frame around the opening or on the frame behind the storage drawer.

Prior to 1980: Open the upper oven door wide and the model number plate is located on the frame between the hinges.

On models with a microwave on the top: Open the microwave door and check inside on the left wall or open the lower oven door and check on the frame around the opening.

Gas models: Lift up the cooktop to locate the rating plate.

27" Drop-In: Open the oven door and check on the frame around the opening or on the cross member below the oven.

30" Drop-In: Lift up the cooktop and check on left wall toward the rear.

Older Electric models: Lift the front left surface unit and check for the rating plate on the inner left side wall or open the oven door and check on the frame behind the oven door.

Lift-Up Cooktop: The rating plate is centered under the cooktop on the metal burner support which runs across the top or pull out the storage drawer and check by the left leg.

Non Lift-Up Cooktop: Pull out the storage drawer and the rating plate is on the left or right side frame.

Solid Disk burner models: Open the storage drawer and check on the frame on the right side.

20" Apartment Size models: Lift up the cooktop and look for the rating plate on the right side wall.

40" Range models: Open the storage drawer and check on the frame around the opening or open the oven door and check around the frame.

To find the rating plate on older Cooktops:

1984 to current Radiant burner models, please take a look at the Locate Model and Serial Number site.

Radiant burner models prior to 1984: The rating plate is located under the right rear control knob or right front control knob or on the bottom of the cooktop.

Non Lift-Up Cooktop: Lift the right front or left rear surface unit. The model number is on the inside right of the frame or on the back corner of the frame.

Lift-Up Cooktop: Lift the top to find the rating plate on the right side of the frame or back corner of the frame.

Downdraft Modular: The rating plate is located on the right side of the blower assembly.

Older Induction models: Bottom right side of the cooktop.
