Refrigerators - Water by Culligan Water Filter

The Water by Culligan™ water filter used in GE and Profile branded refrigerators in the 1990s and early 2000s were replaced by GE SmartWater filters. These Culligan water filters contained a porous carbon element that traps most particle matter and removed most unpleasant tastes, odors, and lead from the water supplied to the refrigerator.

In models with the Water by Culligan filters, the filter cartridge is located in the fresh food compartment to the right side of the control console. It is visible and easily replaceable without removing any additional parts, screws, or fasteners.

Part numbers included: The FXRT-20 Micron Filter (removes chlorine, taste, and odor) and the FXRC-1 Micron Filter (removes chlorine, taste, odor, lead, and cysts).
