Compactor - Drawer Will Not Open

The compactor drawer/door will not open if the ram is not all the way up.

 

If the drawer won't open:

1. Lift up on the foot pedal and then release it to allow the ram to complete a cycle.
2. Confirm there is power going to the compactor by making sure the cord is plugged in securely and that the house circuit breaker has not tripped.

 

If the drawer continues to remain stuck, service will be required. For service, please schedule an appointment with GE Appliances Factory Service.
