Ratings and Q&A

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flat top is the ticket! No more knobs to clean around. Still the amazing burner features I enjoyed on my previous GE Profile cooktop. Durable surface. I cook primarily with cast iron. Care is an obvious necessity, but nothing more than normal. I would recommend this product to others without hesitation.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from ADA Compliant? I LOVE my 15+ year old GE Cooktop I absolutely love my 15+ year old GE Profile cooktop; I was heartsick when I dropped a jar of spaghetti sauce on the front corner and a crack spread through my largest FRONT burner. My sync elements had a bridge between the two elements that created a CONTINUOUS heating element for my griddle - an important feature for my homemade buttermilk pancakes. Now for the replacement model. This cooktop may meet the letter of the law for ADA compliance but not in practically. The largest element is located at the rear of the cooktop. If like me, you frequently cook large TALL pots of stew, chili or make gravies in large skillets, the pot/skillet that needs constant stirring or other attention is located at the rear BEHIND the controls. Now fast forward to end of cooking time...I'm 5' tall, limited grip and strength in my hands and arms; I have to stretch to lift that pot from back of cooktop. In addition, I use a pressure cooker for meal prep at least a couple times a week; those aren't lightweight. As for the sync burners, I might as well use them separately; there's no heating bridge between the two elements. When making pancakes, I now have to ensure that the batter is directly on the elements rather than being able to take advantage of my entire griddle surface. Why not use two separate griddles? I don't see the benefit - I can set two burners to the same setting and don't need electronics to do it for me. I so wish I hadn't dropped that spaghetti sauce!!!
