Coffee Maker with Stainless Carafe - How to Use

Proper use and care of your coffee maker will help keep it working efficiently.

How to Brew

  1. Fill the carafe with the desired amount of cold water and pour it into the water reservoir at the back of the unit. Make sure the water level is above the MIN line but not above the MAX fill line.

  2. Place the carafe on the warming plate. If using the coffee maker a second time immediately after the first, allow the warming plate to completely cool. Never place the the empty stainless carafe on the warming plate when still warm or hot.

  3. Verify the mesh filter is in the removable filter holder. Add 2 level tablespoons of ground coffee for each cup of coffee desired, or use the amount recommended by the coffee packaging. For stronger or milder coffee, adjust the amount of coffee to suit your taste.

  4. Drop the filter holder down into the housing. Close the lid.

  5. Plug the coffee maker into the electrical wall outlet. The time of day on the display will show "12:00 AM." Set the current time of day (required if you're using Auto Brew).

    • Tap the HR button to enter the hour set-up mode and then press and hold the HR button to get to the correct "hour." Repeat for the minutes using the MIN button. Wait 15 seconds to save the selection.

  6. Press the BREW/CANCEL button. The indicator illuminates in white, indicating that the heating element is on and the unit is brewing coffee. The Brew icon will appear on the LCD display. It will take a minute or so for coffee to start filling the carafe.

    • The default selection is for Regular coffee strength. "Regular" will show on the display under the time.

    • For Bold coffee strength, before you press BREW/CANCEL, press the BOLD button. "Bold" will show under the clock on the display.

  7. After the water is boiled away in the water reservoir, the coffee maker enters into the keep-warm mode for 2 hours. After 2 hours, the indicator turns off and the unit enters standby mode.

Note:

  • To stop brewing at any time, press BREW/CANCEL once. The white indicator turns off, which means the unit has stopped brewing coffee. Coffee will continue to drip into the carafe briefly.

  • The amount of brewed coffee will always be less than the amount of water poured into the water reservoir; as much as 10% is absorbed by coffee grounds and the filter.
