Over-the-Range Microwave - Vent Fan Automatic Start for Cooking Cycle

For the Over-the-Range Microwave model series JVM3160, JVM6172, JVM6175, JVM3162, JNM3163 and JNM3184, the vent fan will automatically start when using any cooking cycle on the Microwave.

Vent Fan Operation

  • The vent fan will make a sound similar to a Vent Hood. This exterior fan noise on the Over-the-Range Microwave is a normal sound when the vent fan is in use.
  • It is also normal to see the word VENT in the countdown screen when the Microwave is in use. This simply indicates that the vent is on.
  • As soon as the Start/Pause pad is pressed to begin a cooking cycle on the JVM3160, JVM6172, JVM6175, JVM3162, JNM3163 and JNM3184 Microwave models, you will hear the vent fan automatically start. The automatic vent fan will operate during the entire cooking cycle.
