Microwave - Air Fry Cooking
The Air Fry microwave feature, first introduced on our countertop convection model JES1109RR, is designed to produce foods with a crispier exterior than traditional oven cooking.
How Air Fry feature works:
This feature uses heating elements to rapidly raise the temperature of the air inside the oven. A fan circulates the heated air throughout the oven, over and around food. Because the heated air is kept constantly moving, not permitting a layer of cooler air to develop around the food, some foods cook faster than in regular oven cooking.
How to use the Air Fry feature:
There are two options when using Air Fry: Manual Air Fry and Menu Air Fry.
- Manual Air Fry Instructions (recommended for poultry wings/legs and frozen convenience foods):
- Press the Air Fry button once. A fan icon will start flashing.
- Enter the desired temperature using convenience / numeric pad.
- Accepts temperatures of 300, 325, 350, 375, and 425°F.
- Enter desired time.
- Press START
- Flip food when prompted. Once done, close the door and press START.
- Menu Air Fry Instructions (recommended for roasting meats & poultry, and cooking poultry (breasts & thighs) and seafood):
- Press the Air Fry button twice. Both a fan icon and a menu icon (a box with lines) will start flashing.
- Use the Air Fry button to cycle or the number pad to select the Menu Item.

Cookware:
Metal pans are recommended when using the Air Fry feature.
- Dark or dull finish metal pans are best for breads and pies because they absorb heat and produce crisper crust.
- Glass or Glass-Ceramic casserole or baking dishes are best suited for egg and cheese recipes due to the cleanability of glass.
