Semi Automatic Espresso Machine - Descaling Process
It is important for you to descale your GE Profile™ Semi Automatic Espresso Machine. It is recommended to descale once a month or more depending on the water hardness in your area. A descale alert will appear on the control panel when it is time to run a descale cycle for the best operation and life span of the machine. You can snooze the descale alert when it appears and descale at a later time. You press and hold down the Program and Double buttons together for 3 seconds to snooze the descale alert.
Listed below are instructions for descaling your Semi Automatic Espresso Machine. These instructions are for the model P7CESAS6RBB. The descale process consists of two stages. The descale alert will automatically turn off after the descale process is complete. The whole descale process is expected to last 30 to 40 minutes from start to finish.
Please Note: Allow the heating element to completely cool to avoid risk of fire or injury and disconnect power prior to cleaning or service.
CAUTION: To avoid possible burns to body parts and/or other injury from hot steam, do not touch liquids or the steam wand during or after steaming. Do not remove the milk pitcher until steaming is complete. Hold the milk pitcher by the handle.
NOTE: If descale is not properly completed, the appliance may timeout and return to the IDLE state. Until all of the cleaning solution is removed, the quality of the coffee as well as the quality of the descaling process will be affected, so you should run descale again.
NOTE: During descaling the unit will dispense continuously as well as pulse dispense for a better cleaning.
