Most Common Troubleshooting Tips

ProblemSolution
The ice is jammed in the chute.Press and hold the Power and Opal Dispense buttons simultaneously. This will trigger the Opal's auger to rotate counterclockwise for as long as the buttons are held. Then release the buttons after the jam is cleared and dispense as normal.
The water is not flowing from the Side Tank. There may be bubbles in the tube connecting the Side Tank to the Opal if the tube is not laying flat. Try adjusting the tube to allow the water to flow. Once the water line is cleared, water should start flowing and should not need further adjusting. If this does not work, remove the Side Tank from the base and then place it back in the base. This should clear any air that is trapped.
The Ice Maker says "Ice Bin Full" but there is not a lot of ice being dispensed.ORThe ice seems slushy and not freshly made.Make sure that there is a minimum 3 inches clearance on the back and sides of the unit to ensure proper airflow. Check to ensure that the side tank has not blocked either of these vents. Also, the ice maker is set up to save energy as well as wear and tear on components when not in use. If you do not interact with the machine for 8 hours by dispensing ice, the machine will not run.  After 8 hours, the machine will start back up again until it reaches the "Ice Bin Full" state. For best results, use the SmartHQ Opal Ice Maker Dispenser app to schedule when you want fresh ice.
My machine is off but I want to dispense ice.As long as the Opal Ice Maker Dispenser is plugged in, the Dispense button will work. If you have turned the machine off to reduce noise but you know there is ice in the bin, the dispenser will still dispense fresh ice when the button is pressed.
The Ice Maker is showing an "Add Water" alert but there is plenty of water.Follow the descaling instructions in the Owner's Manual, soaking for 18 hours and then running through a full rinse cycle.
Ice maker is going into Defrost mode too often and/or there are no audible sounds indicating that the auger is frozen. It's highly likely that the air vents are blocked. Make sure there is a minimum of 3" clearance on the back and sides of the unit to ensure proper airflow. Check to ensure that the side tank is not blocking either of these vents. It should be pulled forward, in line with the front of the ice maker. If airflow is constricted, the machine will not produce ice normally.
