Microwave Drawer - Cleaning the Interior and Exterior

Our microwave drawers are easy to keep clean, both inside and out. Below are the best ways to clean your microwave drawer.

How to Clean the Outside of the Microwave

Control Panel

  • You can wipe the control panel front with a damp cloth. You can also use dish soap with the damp cloth. When cleaning with the damp cloth, please be mindful that large amounts of water and soap can damage the control.
  • Dry the control thoroughly with a clean cloth.
  • Do not use cleaning sprays, abrasive cleaners, or use sharp objects on the control panel.
  • Do not use cleaners containing ammonia or alcohol. These products can damage the control panel.
  • Paper towels for cleaning or drying the control are not recommended because there is a chance they'll scratch the control panel.

Drawer Front

  • You can wipe the door front with a damp, soapy cloth. Rinse off the drawer front before drying it with a dry, clean cloth.
  • For Stainless models, it's best to use a hot, damp cloth with a mild detergent suitable for stainless steel surfaces. Then use a clean, hot, damp cloth to remove any cleaner residue. Dry with a dry, clean cloth. When cleaning and drying, always go in in the direction of the grain.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or steel wool.
  • Do not use cleaners containing ammonia or alcohol on the microwave oven. Ammonia or alcohol can damage the appearance of the microwave.

How to Clean the Inside of the Microwave

Walls and Floor

  • Be certain the oven control is turned off before cleaning any part of this oven.
  • Some spatters can be removed with a paper towel; however, others may require a damp cloth to remove them. Remove greasy spatters with a soapy cloth, then rinse with a damp cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or sharp utensils on the oven walls.

Inside Window, and Metal & Plastic Parts on the Door

  • It is important that you keep the area clean where the drawer (door) seals against the microwave. To clean the surface of the door and the surface of the oven that come together upon closing, use only mild, non-abrasive detergents applied with a clean sponge or soft;cloth. Wipe any cleaner off well so there is not any residue remaining on the microwave.
  • An occasional thorough wiping with a solution of baking soda and water keeps the inside fresh.
  • Do not use a commercial oven cleaner on any part of your microwave.
