GE Profile™ UltraFast Combo Washer/Dryer - Side-by-Side Installation
Two of our GE Profile™ UltraFast Combo Washer/Dryers can be hooked up next to each other, running simultaneously and independently of each other. This side-by-side installation is easy! All that is needed is the following:
Two separate electrical 110V outlets, one dedicated for each Combo, or a 240V plug adapter.
A 4-prong 240V to 120V UltraFast Combo Plug Adapter can be used if you do not have two 110V outlets available and want to convert a 240V outlet to be used as two 110V outlets.
A drain standpipe that has an inner diameter greater than 1.5".
A 2-way hose splitter for the hot and cold water supply lines, as long as your water supply is greater than 30 PSI.
Move each Combo close to their final installation location but away from the wall.
Since the Combos are ventless, you may want to cover your existing open vent port with a 4" Duct Vent Cover, part number WX08X10070, available through our online GE Appliances Parts Store.
Two Combos can be supplied with water from the same set of faucets as long as your water supply is greater than 30 PSI. Split the hot and cold water lines using a 2-Way Hose Splitter part number WX14X10014 (a Dual Y-Fitting Kit) by following these instructions:
Install one short hose and a wide fitting into the hot faucet.
Install the second assembly on the cold faucet.
Secure all connections with pliers, but do not overtighten.
Attach the four supply hoses to the Y adapters, making sure to group one pair of hot and cold supply hoses for one Combo unit and the second pair of hot and cold supply hoses for the second combo unit.
Attach one cold line to the cold or blue water fitting on the back of the first Combo.
Attach one hotline to the hot or red water fitting.
Repeat for the second combo unit, making sure to secure all connections with pliers but do not overtighten.
Turn on both faucets to check for any leaks at any of the connection locations.
Your standpipe must have an inner diameter greater than 1.5 inches and may require the hoses to be squeezed to insert. Standpipes that have an inner diameter of 2 inches or more will easily accommodate two drain hoses. Install the drain hoses into the standpipe following these instructions:
Insert the first hose into the standpipe between 4 and 7 inches. Do not insert hoses larger than 7 inches.
Insert the second hose next to the first drain hose into the same standpipe.
Use a plastic zip tie or other method to secure the drain hoses securely together in the standpipe.
Plug the power cords into separate electrical outlets. Each combo requires a dedicated 110-volt outlet. Do not plug both power cords into the same outlet. Alternatively, you can use a 4-prong 240V plug adapter, GFAPC120V (available through our GE Appliances Parts Store). This adapts a 4-prong 240V outlet to be used as two 110V outlets. This adapter plugs right into the 240-volt outlet (if you previously had an electric dryer). With this adapter connected, you can then plug in both Combos as each line is regulated by a dedicated internal fuse.
Push each Combo into its final installation location.
