GE Profile™ UltraFast Combo Washer/Dryer - Clothes Getting Wrinkled

Doing loads of laundry is made easy with our Our GE Profile™ UltraFast Combo Washer/Dryer, since there is no need to transfer clothes from a washer to a dryer. What isn't as easy is when laundry comes out of the appliance too wrinkled.

We have two features on the Ultrafast Combo to help minimize wrinkles. There are also tips we can share that will help keep clothes and other items from wrinkling as much at the end of a cycle.

Tips for Reducing Wrinkles

  • The UltraFast Combo is a Smart appliance. Keeping it connected to WiFi means you will always be notified through the SmartHQ app when software updates are available. These software updates can optimize your Combo's performance and address any potential issues.
  • Reduce spin speed - Reducing the spin speed in the wash cycle can decrease the amount of wrinkles created. You can adjust the SPIN option on the wash control.
  • Remove items quickly - Removing the load you're drying as soon as the cycle finishes will reduce the amount of wrinkles that set in. The same goes for the items that you want to remove after the wash cycle to hang dry.
  • Sort clothing - Loads containing articles made of different fabrics or weights are more likely to get tangled together or wrinkled heavily. It's best not to wash your jeans with your t-shirts or sweaters with silky blouses, for example.
  • Load size - The UltraFast Combo can handle large loads, but if you're finding they are wrinkled at the end of a cycle, try using the Wrinkle Care option, the More Dry option, or just a smaller load.
    • Check out our Loading Tips for your Combo.
    • Note: Sometimes items (especially towels) will “plaster” (stick or flattened) to the drum during final spin in the Wash cycle and not release during the Dry cycle. Therefore, these items never get dry and are very wrinkled. To help reduce this risk:
      • Wash full loads.  Washing small loads will increase the risk of this happening.
      • Reduce the spin speed on the LCD screen display for the cycle selected, keeping in mind that this may cause a little longer drying time.
  • Load selection - Match the wash cycle to the type of fabric you're washing.
  • Reduce wash temperature - Repeated washing in water that is too hot for the fabric is more likely to make wrinkles difficult to remove. Some fabrics require warm or cold water washes to prevent wrinkling.
  • Use the ECO DRY setting - Turn this feature on from within the Menu to reduce the total cycle time, which means you're using less total energy in drying. Turning ECO DRY on will cause your items to be less dry at the end of the cycle, and therefore not as wrinkled.
