GE Profile™ UltraFast Combo Washer/Dryer - Installing Inlet Water Supply Hoses
Proper installation of the inlet water supply hoses is critical to the performance of your GE Profile™ UltraFast Combo Washer/Dryer. The below information is a basic summary of how to install the inlet hoses, but we ask that you refer to the written Installation Instructions that accompany your Combo for complete, detailed instructions.
Water Supply Requirements
Before connecting the incoming water supply to your Combo, it is important to make sure you have the correct parts and water supply from your home. Here's what you will need to properly complete your Combo's installation:
- Your home's water supply faucets MUST be 3/4” (1.9 cm) garden hose-type so the new inlet hoses can be connected.
- The water pressure from your home's water supply MUST be between 10 and 120 PSI (pounds per square inch). Your water department can advise you of your water pressure.
- Your hot water temperature should be set to deliver water at 120° to 140°F (48°–60°C) to provide for the proper Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) performance.
- Since the Combo does not come with water inlet hoses, you will want to purchase:
- 2 water hoses (hot and cold), such as WX14X10011
- 2 rubber washers
- 2 hose filter screens
Installing Your Inlet Hoses
Here are the instructions for connecting your water supply inlet hoses:
- Run some water from the hot and cold faucets to flush the water lines and remove particles that might clog the inlet hoses and water valve screens.
- Remove the inlet hoses from the packaging.
- Make sure there is a rubber washer in the end of the hose that will be attached to the water valve on the back of your Combo (the 90° elbow end of the hoses). Reinstall the rubber washer into the hose fitting if it has fallen out during shipment.
- Carefully connect the inlet hoses to the water valve outlets, tighten them by hand, and then tighten another 2/3 of a turn with pliers. Do not cross-thread or over-tighten these connections.
- The COLD outlet valve (labeled with a "C") will have a blue screen.
- The HOT outlet valve (labeled with an "H") will have a red screen.
- If inlet hose screen washers are not already inserted into the inlet hoses, install them by inserting them into the free ends of the HOT and COLD inlet hoses with the protruded side facing the faucet.
- If hose screen washers were not supplied with your hoses, make sure that there are rubber washers inserted into the wall faucet end of both inlet hoses.
- Connect the inlet hose ends to the HOT and COLD water faucets tightly by hand, then tighten another 2/3 of a turn with pliers.
- Make sure that the hoses are connected to the correct faucets, i.e., HOT to HOT and COLD to COLD. Depending on the setup of your wall faucets, this may require you to cross the hoses.
- Turn the water on and check for leaks, both at the wall faucet connections and the Combo's water valve. If there is a leak, check that the rubber washer is in place and that the connections are sufficiently tightened. When moving the Combo to its final location, make sure that the inlet hoses do not become kinked.

Maintenance of Inlet Hoses
All hoses should be replaced every 5 years of use to reduce the risk of hose failures and possible water damage. We also recommend inspecting your water inlet hoses periodically for water leaks, wear, cuts, corrosion, and bulges. If any of these signs appear, you should replace the hoses immediately. It's also a good idea to check to make sure the hoses are not rubbing against sharp objects, becoming kinked, or overstretched.
