French-Door Refrigerator - Dual-Dispense AutoFill Pitcher Not Filling
Having a refrigerator with a water pitcher that automatically fills with fresh, filtered water makes drinking water easy. We have Top-Freezer refrigerators with an AutoFill pitcher that sits on one of the fresh food shelves.
We also have French-Door refrigerators with a Dual-Dispense pitcher that automatically refills from its docking station on one of the fresh food door shelves. These provide two pouring options: spout or spigot. If your AutoFill pitcher is not working and not filling with water, here are some helpful tips.
AutoFill Pitcher Not Filling
- Refrigerators with the Dual-Dispense AutoFill pitcher don't have external controls on the door. It's easy to miss (or forget) the AutoFill Pitcher on/off pad on the internal control panel. The first thing to check when you don't have water is to make sure the AutoFill Pitcher pad is on (LED lit up) .
- The AutoFill pitcher will not fill if the left hand Fresh Food door is open. It will start filling about 5 seconds after the door is closed.
- If the door is closed, and the AutoFill pitcher is not filling, remove the pitcher from the dock in the door and then put is back in place, making sure it is seated properly. If the problem persists, a new pitcher or a service call will be needed.
