Range - Warming Zone Not Working

Many glass cooktop ranges have a warming zone that keeps cooked foods warm and ready to serve. Warming zones can be a smaller, fifth burner at the back center of the cooktop with its own Warming Zone knob. It could also be a "Warmer" or Keep Warm" setting on one of the burners.

How Warming Zones Work

Regardless of the type of warming zone you have, it works the same way. The separate Warming Zone or Warm setting heats at a low wattage to keep already cooked food warm. It keeps food at approximately 140°F, though the actual temperature will depend on the pan, length of time on the setting, what food or liquid is in the pan, etc.

Warming Zone Not Working

• Burner Doesn't Glow or Turn Red - The temperature of the Warming Zone or Warm setting is not high enough to cause the heating coil under the glass to glow red. 
• The Cooktop Hot Surface Doesn't Come On - The Hot Surface indicator light is a safety feature that comes on when you have been cooking on the burners. They indicate at least one burner is hot and act as a warning not to touch the burner or lay something on it. The Hot Surface indicator may not come on when just using the warming zone.
