Fresh Reheat Cookware Guidelines
- Cookware used in the Fresh Reheat mode must be oven-safe.
- Metal pans are recommended. However, if you choose to use non-metal cookware such as glass or ceramic, it is important to check the cookware manufacturer’s instructions to determine if cookware can be used.
- It may be necessary to transfer your food to a different container than what it was refrigerated in because many non-metal storage containers cannot withstand the rapid changes in temperature that occur when using the Fresh Reheat mode.
General Tips for the Fresh Reheat Mode
- Do not preheat the oven when using Fresh Reheat mode.
- Rack position 3 is recommended when using the Fresh Reheat mode.
- Leave your food uncovered if a crispy texture is desired.
- Foods can be covered with aluminum foil when reheating, noting the following results:
- Covered food will retain more moisture compared to uncovered food.
- Covered food will take longer to reheat than uncovered food.
- Thinner layers of food will reheat more quickly than thicker layers.
- Make sure the food you are reheating has been stored properly, and check the internal food temperature after reheating to confirm the minimum safe temperature has been reached. Food safety guidelines can be found at foodsafety.gov.
