GE Profile™ UltraFast Combo Washer/Dryer - Water in Gasket or Dripping From Open Door

From time to time, you may see water drip down into the gasket when you open the door on your GE Profile™ UltraFast Combo Washer/Dryer after a cycle. This is considered normal because there can potentially be a minimal amount of residual water in the dispenser hose area, and that water can drip into the door gasket area when the door is opened. Since most of this residual water will drip into the fold of the gasket, it will be out of the way of your clothes.

Tips for When You See Water in the Door Gasket

  • Make sure you have updated your Combo with the latest software version. Since the initial introduction of the Combo, software updates have reduced the occurrence of this.
  • You may want to wait a few seconds before retrieving your clothes. Sometimes, opening the door quickly or bumping that part of the gasket causes water to drip down into the gasket.
  • Check to make sure the drain pump is cleared out and the drain holes in the door gasket are not obstructed. Instructions for checking and cleaning these areas can be found in your Combo' Owner's Manual.
  • Check the leveling of your Combo, making sure it is level front to rear and not leaning more forward, where gravity keeps water in the p-trap and hoses of the dispenser area, right above the door opening. The water is there to prevent air flow from going up the p-trap hose during the dry cycle.
  • Selecting the Wrinkle Care option often reduces the possibility of residual water dripping from the dispenser area.
