Your GE Profile™ Steam Closet is easy to use and maintain, and provides many benefits to simplify your day. For example, you can dewrinkle clothes after travelling, or refresh them after being unpacked from storage. Remove odors left in your clothes after sitting by the firepit. Gentle dry any delicate garments after washing. Sanitize pillows or stuffed toys.

How to Use

Fill the Water Tank and Check the Drain Tank

Two water tanks are located near the bottom of the Steam Closet.

  • Right Tank - Water Tank: Fill the right side water tank with clean tap water before using the Steam Closet.
  • Left Tank - Drain Tank: The drain tank  the left will fill with used water from the water tank as cycles are run. The drain tank does not need to be emptied after every cycle; however, it fills up after about 3 cycles and will need to be emptied when full. The Steam Closet will not run if the drain tank is full.

Using  a Cycle

  1. Put your item(s) on the moving hangers, the shelf, or the in-door pants hanger.
    • Moving hangers – Use for suits, coats, dresses, skirts, shirts, and pants that don’t require a crease.
      • An ordinary metal/plastic hanger can be used if the hook is less than 5/32 in. (4 mm) thick. The hook must fit in the indentation in the moving hanger snugly. If the fit is too loose, it may result in vibration, noise, and damage to clothing.
    • Shelf – Pillows, Stuffed Toys, Sweaters, Baby Clothes
    • Clothes Pants Crease Door – Use for pants with creases.
  2. Touch "Power" and select  your cycle. Multiple presses of the cycle selected will rotate options for that cycle.
    • Refresh – Refreshes clothes with high temperature steam and vibration. The cycle helps reduce odors in clothes. Options for this cycle are: Light, Normal, or Heavy.
    • Special Care – Adjusts time, temperature, and vibration based on your selection. Options for this cycle are: Suits/Coats, Pants Crease, Activewear, Wool/Knit.
    • Sanitize – Use this cycle to steam clean and dry items. Options for this cycle are: Normal, Bedding, Kid’s Item, Heavy Duty.
    • Gentle Dry - Dries clothes using warm air and the moving hanger without tumbling. It is suitable for refreshing non-washable fabrics and natural fibers like 100% wool and cashmere. Options for this cycle are: Normal, Rain/Snow, Timed Dry.
  3. Touch and hold "Start/Pause" to begin the cycle.
    • Pause a cycle anytime by touching "Start/Pause" again. Do not open the door during operation.
  4. Remove your items when the cycle is complete and leave the door open to let the warm air escape.
    • If you can’t remove your items after the cycle ends, the Night Care feature periodically produces warm air to prevent condensation. Press and hold "Sanitize" for 3 seconds to activate.

Maintenance Tips

  • The lint filter is located in the lower front of the Steam Closet. Always make sure the filter is clean by removing it and using a soft brush or vacuum cleaner.
  • If using a dryer sheet in the aroma filter located near the back to add a refreshing scent, replace after every use.
  • The Drain Tank should be checked often, and will need to be emptied when full. The Steam Closet will not run if the Drain Tank is full.
