Gas Range - JXGRILL2 Cast Iron Reversible Griddle / Grill

JXGRILL2 is a heavy-duty cast iron reversible grill/griddle, designed for use with the following select models of GE Appliances Gas ranges:

JXGRILL2 is an accessory and is available to purchase on our GE Appliances website.

Note that JXGRILL1 and JXGRILL2 are not interchangeable.

About the Grill/Griddle

The cooking areas on both sides of the JXGRILL2 measure approximately 8"W x 13.3"L.
The ribbed grill side of the reversible grill/griddle can be used for food that is normally grilled, such as meats or vegetables.
The griddle side provides an extra-large cooking surface for meats, pancakes, and other foods usually prepared in a skillet.

The reversible cast-iron grill/griddle can only be used over the center burner of the range top. To position the reversible grill/griddle, remove the center grate (if present) and replace it with the grill/griddle.
Preheat your griddle or grill for at least 5 minutes on High before placing food on it.
- When cooking steaks on the grill side, preheat for up to 8 minutes on High to sear the outside of the steak.

Clean your grill/griddle accessory with a stiff brush and hot water.
Using soap is not recommended, and harsh detergents should never be used as they will remove the seasoning.
Rinse with hot water and dry thoroughly.
After rinsing, preseason by applying a light coat of cooking oil to the griddle and grill surfaces. Wipe off excess oil with a paper towel.
When not in use, store your grill/griddle in a cool, dry place.
Griddle precautions:
- If something has spilled under the griddle, it should be cleaned up as soon as possible to prevent the spill from getting baked onto the cooktop.
- Do not allow grease to accumulate under the griddle, as it can be a fire hazard. Clean under the griddle with hot, soapy water as soon as it is cool.
- Do not wash your griddle in the dishwasher.
