Refrigerator - Frost or Ice on Dispenser Chute
Seeing frost or a small amount of ice in the dispenser chute on a Refrigerator is not necessarily indicative of a problem. The information provided below will help you determine if you need the assistance of a service technician.
Diagnosing Frost or Ice Accumulation in the Dispenser Chute on a Refrigerator
Sometimes a small mound of frost, snow, or ice will form on the door or flap in the ice chute. This condition is usually normal and typically occurs when you have dispensed crushed ice repeatedly. It will eventually evaporate. You can clean frost from the dispenser chute by using a warm damp sponge.
Continuous Accumulation of Frost or Ice in the Ice Chute
- Operate the dispenser with the door open and the ice storage bucket removed from inside the Freezer to see if the flap is closing all the way. If not, you will want to have the dispenser checked by a service technician.
