Side-by-Side Refrigerator - Little or No Ice in Integrated Ice Bucket

On a Side-by-Side refrigerator with an integrated ice bucket, the bucket will get to the point where the icemaker stops, but is not yet full. This is usually after 1 to 2 days without any ice dispensing from the dispenser on the door. This is a normal occurrence.

Observing Little or No Ice in the Integrated Ice Bucket

Nominal production of 100 to 120 cubes in 24 hours will only fill the back portion of the ice bucket. 100 to 120 cubes doesn't look like much. Try dispensing some ice. The icemaker will start working again and the ice bucket will get full. If the ice bucket is empty and you leave for a few days, it will only be 1/2 full when you come back. This is due to the ice bucket tilting back and the ice pile in the back, shutting off the ice maker.

Once some ice has been dispensed, the icemaker will start working again and the ice bucket will get full. With no ice usage, other than the auger to move the ice up, this can take 2 to 3 days for it to get full.
