Washer - Rinse and Soak Cycle

Found on some models, if your washer has a Rinse & Soak cycle, you will find these words visible around the timer dial.

Understanding the Use of the Rinse and Soak Cycle on a Washer

Some models that have Rinse & Soak have a Settings knob that determines how the washer behaves.

If the Knob Is Off (or There Is No Knob)

  • The washer washes as normal.

  • Water is added to the load followed by a quick pulsing and a longer soak period during Rinse and Soak.

  • Less water is needed for rinse because the clothing is already wet.

  • This is a cold water rinse.

If the Washer Is Equipped with a Fabric Softener or Clean Rinse Knob and That Setting Is Selected

  • The washer washes as normal and releases the fabric softener.

  • Water is added for rinse and a quick pulsing occurs during or shortly after the rinse filling. This is followed by a longer soak period.
