To minimize the possibility of electric shock, unplug this appliance from the power supply before attempting any maintenance or cleaning.
If you are attempting to repair your Top Load Washer, you may need to remove the front panel to get to the inside of the Washer. The front panel on Top Load Washers made from 1995 to present is easily removed. Listed below is the procedure for removing the front panel.
Removing the Front Panel on a Top Load Washer
Tools required: One stiff blade putty knife.
Unplug the Washer from the wall outlet.
Locate the 2 spring clips between the top and front panel on the Washer. These are located approximately 4 inches in from the top, left and right corners.
Insert the putty knife between the top and front panel and push in to release the clips.
Pull the top of the front panel forward, lift up and off the bottom "locating" tabs.
To reassemble, place the bottom of the front panel on the existing "locating" tabs at the bottom of the Washer cabinet.
Align the front panel with the Washer cabinet and top, then push in until the front snaps onto the spring clips.
It is an easy process to remove and reassemble the front panel.
Please Note: Some new Top Load Washer models do not have this consumer removeable front panel.
