Air Conditioner - How To Remove Ice On Coils
It is possible for the coils on an air conditioner to ice over or freeze up. Ice on the indoor coils of an air conditioner can cause the appliance to stop cooling well. This may even cause the air conditioner to spit water or ice out of the front of the appliance. The primary causes for ice on the coils is the outdoor temperature, fan speed, or a dirty filter.
Removing Ice from the Coils on an Air Conditioner
- The quickest way to defrost the coils is to turn the air conditioner off and allow the air conditioner to defrost in room temperature air.
- You may also try setting the Mode control to Fan or Cool and the Speed control to High with the temperature setting as high as it can be set to help defrost the coils.
