There is not a specific maximum hot air temperature limit for operating a room or window air conditioner. Logically, when outdoor temperatures are extremely hot, it will be more difficult for an air conditioner to obtain and maintain a lower indoor air temperature.

There is no maximum temperature limitation for operating room air conditioners. If you live in an area where daytime temperatures can reach 120° Fahrenheit outside, make sure the room air conditioner is sized properly. In extremely high temperatures such as this, a room air conditioner will improve indoor air temperatures by approximately 15 to 20 degrees.
