Top Load Washer - Water Sound in Basket

When a Top Load washer is not in use and the tub is empty, it is possible to hear a water sloshing sound coming from the basket.

Understanding the Water Sound in the Basket of a Top Load Washer

If you hear a sloshing sound when you move the inner tub in a newer GE Appliances washer, that is the balance ring. This is an enclosed plastic container partially filled with a salt water solution. It is attached to the inner clothes basket and allows the basket to spin smoothly should an out of balance situation occur.

This is a normal sound.
