Dehumidifier - Sizing
If sized properly, a dehumidifier should maintain the relative humidity level that is set on the controls. The optimum relative humidity level for a room is generally between 30% and 50%. If the dehumidifier is oversized for the area, the appliance may cycle on and off more often and some decline in performance could be noticed.
Selecting the Correct Sized Dehumidifier
To properly size a dehumidifier, the location of the appliance is important. The following chart is a recommended selection guide.
