Dehumidifier - Sizing

If sized properly, a dehumidifier should maintain the relative humidity level that is set on the controls. The optimum relative humidity level for a room is generally between 30% and 50%. If the dehumidifier is oversized for the area, the unit may cycle on and off more often and some decline in performance could be noticed.

To properly size a dehumidifier, the location of the unit is important. The following chart is a recommended selection guide.
