Ice Maker - Standalone Ice Maker Noise

The freestanding ice maker must be cleaned as often as every six months (depending on the hardness of the water supply) to maintain proper functionality. In areas with extremely hard water, even more frequent cleanings may be required. The ice maker also needs to be cleaned to prevent the icemaker drain line from getting clogged.

The ice system is very susceptible to the natural minerals in your incoming water. These minerals can build up on the ice maker freezing plate. If the minerals build up over time, it will cause the ice maker to lose its ability to release new ice. The noise occurs when the ice becomes stuck.
