Top Load Washer - Fabric Softener Dispenser

Using a liquid fabric softener can help soften and protect your clothing. If your Top Load Washer has a liquid fabric softener dispenser, it will dispense softener at the correct time during the wash cycle.

 

When adding softener, it is important to not overfill the dispenser. You should dilute the softener with water if indicated by the softener manufacturer.

 

How to Use the Liquid Fabric Softener Dispenser on Models with an Agitator:

The dispenser is like a cup that is on the top of the agitator. When using the dispenser, always make sure it is attached securely to the top of the agitator.

  1. Pour the manufacturer's recommended amount of liquid fabric softener into the dispenser cup. Dilute the fabric softener with water if directed to do this on the container.

  2. Add water to the dispenser cup until it reaches the maximum fill line.

  3. Continue with adding your detergent and your wash load.

  4. After closing the lid, select your cycle and options.

  5. If your model has a Fabric Softener rinse option on the control panel, it must be selected for the fabric softener to dispense properly. This option may be called "Fabric Softener", "Clean Rinse" or "Deep Rinse (Select when adding Fabric Softener)".

 

How to Use the Liquid Fabric Softener Dispenser on Models with an Infusor:

  1. Measure the manufacturer's recommended amount of concentrated or "ultra" liquid fabric softener into the bottle's cap.

  2. Open the sealed dispenser tab on the Infusor and pour the softener into the dispenser.

  3. After the softener has drained into the dispenser, push the dispenser tab down.

  4. Continue with adding your detergent and your wash load.

  5. After closing the lid, select a Fabric Softener option on the control panel of your washer. This option may be called "Fabric Softener", "Clean Rinse" or "Deep Rinse (Select when adding Fabric Softener)".
