Dishwasher - Power Dry Option

There are various types of drying options or features on dishwashers. This article is specifically defining the dishwasher models that have a Power Dry button or pad on the control panel.

Using the Power Dry Option on a Dishwasher

Power Dry replaces the Heated Dry button on models with this option. It can be added to any cycle but Rinse. Depending on the wash cycle selected, Power Dry works one of three ways as explained below.

  • Express Wash: The final rinse temperature is increased to aid in water evaporation and adds 15 minutes of fan drying time to the end of the cycle.
  • eWash: Does not increase the rinse temperature. On this cycle, only the fan is used to dry the dishes. The dry time is 1.5 hours.
  • All Other Wash Cycles: Power Dry adds 65 minutes of dry time to the cycle, then the fan will run for another 90 minutes or until the door is opened. Once the LCD reads "Clean" the fan will run for another 90 minutes or until the door is opened.

When Power Dry is selected, the water in the Rinse cycle is heated up to 150 degrees to aid the drying process.
