GE Profile™ GEOSPRING™ Hybrid Heat Pump Water Heater - Using Vacation Mode

The Vacation Mode on your GE Profile™ GEOSPRING™ water heater can be used when you are away from home for an extended period of time and hot water is not needed.

Vacation Mode

In this mode, the temperature set point will drop the water temperature down to 50°F and will use the most efficient heating mode to conserve energy while the heater is sitting idle. The unit will automatically resume heating one day before the programmed return, so that hot water will be available.

When set to Vacation Mode, the default is set for 7 days; however, it can be adjusted up to a maximum of 199 days, as needed. The unit can also be set to “---”, which will keep it in Vacation Mode indefinitely until you change it again. You can find directions

Extended Vacation or Use in Seasonal/2nd Home

If the water heater is in a seasonal home or will be idle for an extended vacation, turn off the power and water to it. Information about what to do in extended shutdown periods is found in your model's Owner's Manual.

Shutting off power and draining the water heater tank and pipes will conserve energy, guard against unexpected leaks, and prevent a buildup of dangerous hydrogen gas. You can shut off the power to the GEOSPRING at the circuit breaker in your breaker box since there is no power button.
